Urgent and special messages for all Registered LP Gas Installers

New Certificate of Conformity books
As a result of the publication of the Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER), it has been necessary for the LPGSASA to revise the name, content and layout of the present LPGSASA Certificate of Compliance (CoC) books. The PER contains certain requirements that need to be included in the CoC with regards to the address details of the site where the installation has been carried, out as well as specific wording to be used for the installer declaration.
The revised certificate books fully comply with the requirements of the PER.

Manifold Installations for Domestic Installers

Please note, it was decided that Domestic installers should be able to do vapour manifold installations in order to cut out the necessity to have more than one installation per site on a cross over valve. It was also decided that Domestic Installer can install up to 5 on and 5 off system.

However, for any LPG installation, the requirements of SANS 10087 part 1 must be complied with. As such all LPG installations must adhere to the local authority in whose area of jurisdiction the installation is installed, paying particular attention to the quantities of LPG that can be installed without the requirement for a Flammable Liquids Permit. Any storage of LPG above the designated quantity, will require a Flammable Liquids Permit obtainable from the local fire department.

Gas installations of 5 on and 5 off system in a domestic environment require a permit from the local authority/fire department.
